2Km, 5Km, and 8Km openwater swims at the Island Built by Fire. Did you know that Camiguin is home to fourteen volcanos (Philvolcs number)?! Only one remains on the active list . The volcanic island has so much to offer including black sand beaches (the result of eruptions), a sunken cemetery carpeted in coral after sinking into the sea in 1871, thriving reefs, and a striking white sandbar that we have the pleasure and privilege to swim to and/or from. A modern national road runs the circumference of the island, a total of 60Km around, giving visitors access to waterfalls, dive sites, hikes up dormant volcanos, and a way to sample a surprising variety of places to eat. This will be our fourth year in Camiguin and thanks to the support and sponsorship of the Provincial Government of Camiguin and the Municipal Government of Mambajao, we are excited to introduce even more swimmers to the beauty of this less-visited (but not for long!) but amazing island. Withdrawing from the race on or before February 15, 90% of the registration fees and 93% accommodation payments shall be returned to the participant. Withdrawing from the race from February 16-March 31, 50% of the registration fees and 50% of accommodations shall be returned. Exceptions can be made with the submission of a medical certificate pertaining to withdrawal due to a medical emergency. The final refund amount to be evaluated by the board of directors of SSI. No refunds (registration and accommodations) shall be issued from April 1 onward
